I was at the Palmetto laundromat. Doing all that laundry made me hungry. Did a quick search for somewhere close to eat I got the South Main bar and Grill. Food was excellent. The libations were refreshing and I can definitely recommend it. non-pretentious local spot. Very cool!
Food was good, Service started a little slow but once we were paired with our waitress the experience got better.
I wanted to find a place where I could get a grilled hamburger. I stopped in South Main Bar & grill to hopefully get a grilled burger. The waitress was very nice. She told me their burgers were very good. I ordered when she gave me the price $11 I was a bit shocked. The waitress told me the burgers were made bigger, hence the price. Since I was going to get a grilled burger, I would pay the price. When I got home and opened the burger, I looked at the patty. To me, it looked like a frozen patty! The taste wasn't what I expected. I thought it was a soy patty, but that was my opinion. I took a couple of bites and threw it away. A waste of my $11.
Who would have thought that you would find such good food in such a non-descript place. I had no idea this place was here but came on the advice of a local. I think this used to be an auto service station of some sort. I passed by the place because I didn't think it could be a restaurant/bar. I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of the food. Everything I saw the waitress bring to the other tables looked amazing. I had the club sandwich and my wife had the blackened chicken Mac and cheese. Both were amazing. The waitress made an honest mistake on our bill and offered us an amazing desert for the inconvenience. It was a mixture of cheesecake and churro topped with vanilla ice cream (see my picture) and it was DELICIOUS. I don't even remember seeing it on the menu. You MUST try this unique desert, it won't disappoint!
So this is definitely a place I will try again. The food was good but not great. I consider myself a wing connoisseur and theirs were ok. The flavor was great but the wings were not fried fresh. They were either reheated or kept under a heat lamp too long. I also had a "grilled" shrimp salad which was basically boiled shrimp heated on the grill.. still good flavor and the salad overall did not disappoint. Would like to see a little more effort on the food. This was a to go order so maybe the dine-in food is better. My kids loved the tenders and fries and the mac n cheese is a winner!
First time here today with my daughter. Everything was GREAT!. I asked my daughter if she would return again and she said “I love this place” (she’s only 7 years old). Can’t wait to return! Keep up the great work. Unbeatable prices btw. We ate EVERYTHING
Definately worth a stop. We drove here (what seemed like forever) and I suggest you don't go by the outside hole in the wall kinda looks because it's very nice & modern inside. First things first - it's tucked right next to a car shop/body shop so don't do the mistake of driving past it due to parking because we did! Just turn in and go to the back on the gravel and walk back to front. Anyway, we walked in and were pleased with the decor and how clean, organized this place was. Our server was very nice and prompt with our drinks. For apps we ordered the fried mix veggie basket and I can tell you it's fried to perfection but the batter is bland . Needs a but of something to get some taste. Next we ordered wings with spicy garlic and dry rub (fried crispy) and a hamburger. My partner really enjoyed his burger with tots and wings were delicious. Do try the wing sauce for a kick. The server also said they sometimes have homemade cobblers by an employee as she makes it at home and brings it. They just didn't have it last night and I guess we'll try it next time. Clean rr but I just feel like the lighting in rr is a bit too dim and I get it - go with decor etc but it would be nice to have a brighter bulb in there. We will be back for food and excellent service . Not at all disappointed here.
Been a while since my last review of South Main. Once again the service and food were excellent. We had the Dinner special blacken snapper with mango salsa over rice with broccoli $13.00 and also the Ribeye Steak sandwich $10.00. Both were cooked perfect . You will not find a better meal in Clover. Don't judge a book by it's cover give this place a try you will not be disappointed
